As the principal education centre for such activities in Flanders, Inverde has 10000 participant/students each year for adult education/formation. The scope of interests of Inverde is very broad and the centre addresses the forestry, nature conservation and green area management sector as well as the general public: we offer specific and specialised training and retraining of officials on one hand and of individuals employed in the forestry sector on the other hand.

We also provide information, training and guidance of private forest-owners and general forestry information and education for the general public. Inverde has also a broad experience in national and international projects: currently the developing of a European chainsaw certificate with 13 European countries involved is the most challenging project running.

Role in the project

In the design of a personal learning environment for arborists and forestry workers Inverde will contribute to the needs’analysis of target groups in order to develop the two modules. As a training institution we have the means to test the practibility of the modules in Flanders and to get feedback from our test-users. Concerning the dissemination and exploitation of the project results, we are experienced in communicating to stakeholders and target groups and we will implement the outcome in our own institution.
